WHY CHOOSE US

The Stonewing Process

Built for Public Facilities. Proven in Occupied Buildings.
Step1
Facility & Scope Discovery
Understand the building before touching the work.
We start with an on-site review focused on constructability, access, phasing, safety, and operational constraints—not just finishes. For public facilities, this includes ADA exposure, life-safety considerations, and coordination with building staff. Outputs:
  • Existing conditions validation
  • Risk & phasing considerations
  • Preliminary scope alignment
Step2
Budget Alignment & Feasibility
No design fantasy. No bait-and-switch pricing.

We pressure-test the scope against real-world costs, schedules, and funding constraints. If adjustments are needed, they happen early—before documents lock in problems.
Outputs:

  • Order-of-magnitude or fixed-cost budget (as appropriate)
  • Scope clarifications and alternates
  • Early value-engineering options (if needed)
Step3
Design, Engineering & Compliance
Documents that survive bidding and inspection.

When design is required, we coordinate with architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure drawings are buildable, code-compliant, and aligned with the budget—especially for ADA, structural, and envelope work.
Outputs:

  • Permit-ready documents
  • ADA/code compliance checks
  • Clear scope boundaries to reduce change orders
Step4
Pre-Construction Planning
Where most projects succeed—or fail.
This is where Stonewing separates itself. We lock in trades, finalize phasing, confirm material lead times, and align the schedule with building operations. Outputs:
  • Trade coordination & sequencing
  • Confirmed schedule & milestones
  • Submittals, procurement, and logistics plan
  • Communication plan for stakeholders
Step5
Controlled Construction
Clean job sites. Tight schedules. No surprises.
We actively manage daily field operations, safety, inspections, and coordination between trades—especially critical in occupied schools and facilities. What clients experience:
  • Minimal disruption
  • Clear communication
  • Fast issue resolution
  • Disciplined change management
Step6
Closeout, Documentation & Turnover
Public projects aren’t done until the paperwork is done.

We handle punchlists, inspections, and closeout documentation so your team isn’t chasing missing items months later.

Deliverables include:

  • Final inspections & approvals
  • As-builts and warranties
  • Clean closeout package
  • Final walkthrough & acceptance
